Niacinamide

Niacinamide

Vitamin B3 — the versatile active that helps the skin regain a more even appearance

Common name: Niacinamide, vitamin B3

INCI name: Niacinamide

Where it comes from

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It is generally obtained through synthesis to guarantee high purity, consistent quality and a controlled concentration in cosmetic formulations.

How does it work on the skin?

Picture the skin as a wall built from many small bricks.

The skin barrier acts as the mortar holding those bricks together. When this barrier is weakened, the skin can become drier, uncomfortable and more sensitive to external aggressors.

Niacinamide helps maintain this barrier, allowing the skin to better preserve its comfort and balance.

It is also involved in several skin mechanisms that contribute to theeven, healthy appearance of the skin. In particular, it can help reduce the appearance of irregularities and pigment marks when used regularly in a suitable formula.

Which skin types?

Niacinamide is suitable for many skin types, including:

  • Combination to oily skin : helps maintain better skin balance and improve the appearance of blemishes.
  • Blemish-prone skin : contributes to clearer, more even-looking skin.
  • Skin with marks or an uneven tone : helps gradually improve the appearance of the complexion.
  • Dry or weakened skin : supports the skin barrier and the comfort of the skin.
  • Dull or uneven skin : helps restore a more even and radiant appearance.
