Where it comes from

Aloe vera is of plant origin. It is obtained from the leaves of the plant Aloe barbadensis, also known as aloes.

The inner part of the leaf contains a gel naturally rich in water and in various plant components. After extraction and purification, this gel can be used in cosmetic formulations for its hydrating, soothing and refreshing properties.

How does it work on the skin?

Picture your skin as having a kind of water reservoir that allows it to stay supple, soft and comfortable.

When the skin lacks water, it can become dry, dull, rough and tight. It can also feel less supple and less comfortable to the touch.

Aloe vera gives the skin a sensation of hydration thanks to its water content and to components that can contribute to retaining water at the skin's surface.
